They had back beaks & I believe they were Trumpeter swans. They didn't have any yellow coloration & they were very large. Very pretty--very regal looking. They were the largest swans I've ever seen. So large that we almost thought they couldn't possibly be swans, but they have quite a distinctive look.

I have never seen swans in this type of environment. It's so wavy around the coast of Lake Michigan & the waves were moving them around quite a bit--but they just kept on swimming. No babies, just the pair of adults.

This seems unusual to me, but maybe this isn't that odd of an occurrence. Is it typical for swans to be in the ocean or an ocean like, very wavy environment & are swans "travelers"? Do they fly or swim long distances?
