In Response To: Pinioned mute swan cygnets...what to do with them? (John)

I live in North Carolina where it is illegal to keep "non-pinioned" mute swans. I have 4 new cygnets and would like to let them grow to "adulthood" before giving them away.

How long can they remain on the same 5 acre pond without becoming a problem for the adults? They won't be able to fly away if the adults turn on them.
