TWO NEW SPONSORS TO HELP CONSERVE SWANS

Hi Everyone: Winter is fast approaching and one of the major topics that we constantly see at this time of the year is how to protect captive swans in cold inclement weather and preventing ponds or lakes from freezing. Winter months can truly be deadly for swans as they can become trapped on the frozen pond which permits predators to readily gain access to them. The swans may become trapped in the broken ice and not be able to regain their footing on solid ice or pond banks and drown. Lastly, they can starve or become dehydrated because they cannot access a water supply.

Because of this critical issue of the use of de-icers or aeration systems, we are proud to announce two new sponsors, Bob Knox Swans and Vertex Water Features. These two entities are well experienced in swans and aeration needs for ponds throughout the year. Not only is Regal Swan benefiting from their sponsorship, but we have asked them to share their vast experience with swans and aeration systems for you. In the very near future, you will see a post describing the needs of swans specifically during the winter months and the aeration/de-icing systems available and relevant to various pond and habitat. Please welcome these two new sponsors and help us support them for their swan conservation efforts. The Regal Swan
