Ask the Swan Specialist

seeking fertile eggs.....

We live on a small lake with a lone female Mute Swan. (Her mate died and I heard after that she rejected a visiting male) In the Spring she sits on her non-fertile eggs for months! Some residents are thinking if we could find some fertile eggs we could put them in her nest. Is there a source for fertile eggs? Would she hatch them?
