Yes, we are aware of this atrocity and hope that whomever the idiot that killed the adults will be found and prosecuted under criminal animal cruelty laws. However, knowing most cruelty laws, they don't pack the punch that they should.

The cygnets and all swans should be fed a mixture of cracked corn and poultry layer pellets with some lettuce.

We have advised several individuals to capture the cygnets and get them to a wildlife rehabilitation center, contact us and if we need to find them a good home, we will do so. Again, the idiot that killed this adult bird for protecting its cygnets by biting a young child should not only be prosecuted but the family that had a child approach a swan or any other animal with offspring should also be held legally responsible.
