At Kenner City Park in Kenner, Louisiana, there is a black swan with fishing line wrapped so tightly around its right leg that it is unable to use the leg. I called a wildlife rehabilitator who told me I could try to catch it by throwing a blanket over its head and then holding it while someone else tries to cut the line off. I'm afraid we might hurt the swan more in trying to catch it, but if we don't try, it will surely lose its leg.
