Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: community swan (Waverly)

After an attack on the young swan by the father, we penned it in a dog kennel by the lake on the east side of lake until it could be relocated at an animal refuge in Locust Grove. In the mean time the single male swan on the east side of lake has taken notice of the young swan and established a nest next to the kennel & he now fusses over anyone approaching the kennel to tend to the young swan. Can we take this to mean he has taken a liking to the young swan & it is probably a female and potential mate?
