In Response To: Female swan missing after sitting on nest for a week (Beth)

Hi, I am totally in a panic. I have 2 swans Giselle and Goose. They mated built a nest, and she has been sitting on her 6 eggs for about a week-10 days. She is quite tame and will leave the nest for about 10 minutes once a day to feed etc. but, always covers the eggs. This morning the eggs were uncovered and I saw the male keeping watch. As the day progressed he is now sitting on the nest and seems to be frantically searching for her. She has never been away from the nest this long and always keeps it in sight. She has been gone for 12 hours. There was no disturbance to the nest or eggs but she is just gone!!!! I don't see her body or a bunch of feathers. I am so worried. Does this happen after sitting for around 10 days? There is an upper creek but she is nowhere on the lower creek. Any help is so very appreciated.
