Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Lonely swan (Faith)

I visit my parents in SC frequently and years ago a pair of swans appeared......brought in by the retirement "village" they live in presumably. They had a cygnet many years ago of which only one survived. Turtles take them. The one offspring has been an adult for many years and wanders the park, so alone. it's parental pair will not let it be around. He or she appears so terribly lonely. He wanders from one canal to another. I'd like to see if a bird club or wildlife sanctuary would like to give him or her a new home with the hopes for a possible mate. It has never left in all these years. It appears to not realize it could. Please help me figure out something for this lonely bird.
