“Born To Explore” with Richard Wiese on ABC Television To Feature The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc., on October 20th

World-renowned explorer Richard Wiese will feature The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc., (RSF), on his Emmy Award nominated ABC television show, “Born To Explore” which will air on Saturday, October 20. Six research members of The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc. traveled to the UK in March, where they were filmed working with wild swans in Windsor and Abbotsbury.

The team helped rescue swans along the Thames, cut reeds and provided nesting materials for Mute Swans at Abbotsbury Swannery. This is the world’s oldest and largest managed swannery, which is home to more than 900+ swans. The RSF Research Team also conducted various, ongoing swan research projects, including bathing swans against the “Pink Swan Syndrome,” which is caused by a bacteria, first identified by the research team in 2007.

Perrins; Wendy Hermon, coordinator for Swan Lifeline in Eton, England; and David Wheeler, Swan Herd, Abbotsbury Swannery, Abbotsbury, England.

“Born To Explore” with Richard Wiese, is an educational exploration program that is broadcast on ABC on Saturday mornings. The program takes viewers around the globe in search of adventure, wildlife and explores the people and cultures of the world. The show averages more than 1.3 million viewers every week and is hosted by world-class explorer, author, and adventurer, Richard Wiese. Wiese gained fame at the age of 11 when he climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. This particular episode was also sold to National Geographic Adventurer International. It will air worldwide in October/November.

During the course of the trip, which was sponsored by the British Tourism Council, The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc. unveiled its newest book, titled: “Swans of The World Habitats: Setting The Standard For Swan Conservation,” was published by The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc., 2012. The book presents historical markers for swan research and promotes swan habitat conservation and swan species preservation.
