Is there any unfrozen open water in the immediate area of the swan? Have you checked the area today? The swan may just be resting as it has become fatigued from trying to get itself off of the ice. It can starve, be accessed to predators or drown. Is there any wildlife rehabilitation center in the area that can possibly affect a safe rescue where NO one gets hurt falling through ice or being swept away? In the case of a swan in the middle of a frozen pond, unless the bird can remove itself, then nature will have to take its course unless a safe rescue can be made. Please let us know the status.
