If the cygnets are the size of a duck, they can keep up with the parents just fine. In this case, the parents probably did walk them to another pond especially if there are less predators, better food, shelter and habitat resources and a bigger swimming area. There also could be a small stream not readily accessible by humans that the swans were able to access to the other pond. The Regal Swan
