In Response To: Mother swan killing cygnets (Anne)

Hello someone witnessed a mother Trumpeter swan killing a cygnet, the cygnets are gray and do not appear to be leucistic. So far 2 cygnets are dead, no one witnessed the mother killing the first cygnet. Does anyone have any insight to what may cause this behaviour, as cygnets appear to be healthy.
