There was a group of seven swans in a pond I pass every day. Over the past two to three months, all the swans left except for one. The remaining swan seems fine (healthy) but remains in the area by himself/herself. I find it puzzling. Is there an explanation for this. I've driven by this pond (stream fed) for two decades and have never seen this happen. There have always been at least two swans in the pond prior to this past winter.
