In Response To: Swans safe from predators on a pound without fencing? (Rebekah)

Hi there,

Are domesticated mute swans and pekin ducks basically safe on a pond without any fencing around it? The pond doesn't freeze and it is large - 12 feet deep, 100 feet round. Most predators could get over a fence anyway so I'm thinking it's really the pond that keeps the birds safe. The birds can't fly.
