In Response To: permanently injured mute swan needing a home (Pat Licata)

Hello,
I rescued an injured mute swan and took her to a vet. Upon examination, she has an old leg or hip injury with accompanying nerve damage. She is completely unable to use one leg. I live on a 550 acre lake in Virginia and don't have a way to keep her in my area. The vet said that she will not make it through the winter since she can't pull herself up on land and the shallow areas freeze. Can you please help me find a safe home for her? If you provide possibilities, I will do the work!
