Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Re: Swan in Intracoastal waters Ft. Lauderdale Fl (Clara)

Thank you so much. I've been taken a series of photos and clip videos, the night before prepared my regular camera with telephoto lenses (better and visible) of this gorgeous animal on our intracoastal canal. I called twice, wrote and sent clips, photos, emails to the Wild Life organization in our area and they assure me he can fly (we don't know that until we see him take fly don't we?) Just this morning--3rd day--a large private boat went by creating soft waves, the swan moved to the seawall. I see him going around the seawall (perhaps for food?) and head going under water at times (drinking?) and priming himself. I would like to know if he stays long can he be feed or just allowed nature take its course? I'm afraid a boat may hurt him.

Thank you so much.
PS Swan is around area of Hallandale Beach
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
