9 week old baby swans with their Father

I have observed the birth of baby swans. After 6 weeks their Mother has disappeared and they are with the Father. I think that there must have been a fight because even the Father's rear feathers were frayed. How long will they stay with him? They are 9 weeks old now and I think that he is starting to show them how to fly.
