In Response To: mute swan with clipped wings (Mary Anne)

We live on the Rock River in northern Illinois and have noticed a mute swan with clipped wings hanging out around an island in the river. It has been there for several weeks. Should we try to get it to a rehabilator or leave it alone? We don't know how it will survive the winter.
