Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Mute Swan Surving NE winters (Kimberly Bensch)

We have a 'resident' mute swan at our mill. He lost his mate earlier this year so we have taken it upon ourselves to befriend him And friends he is with us - he will eat from our hands and enjoys swimming around while we are on the deck. Question is: will he be ok here in the New England winters? Should we call someone to take him for the winter? Should we give him shelter somehow? Please advise.
