If the pond is not completely frozen, you will need a couple of boats or kayaks (BEING CAREFUL not to fall in the water) to herd the swan into an area that you can possibly corner it and capture it with a net. The problem that you have is that if the pond is half frozen, the swan is either going to run up onto the ice or fly and come right back to where it wants to go. If the pond is not completely frozen, you have a better chance of getting it cornered. The key is to slowly maneuver the swan into an area that you can corner it without it having room to take off. If you can remove its take-off zone (about 100 feet), you have a better chance of keeping it running instead of flying. Since we do not have a photo of the pond and what you are up against, we're not sure that our advice is going to work.
