Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Re: Questions about captive mute swans (connie)

Our swans are mute swans. We do feed them as you recomend, and we do have a great vet that helps the swan volunteer team. The swans seem to occasionaly wander especially this time of year, even if they have a protected place. Should swans be kept alone, or in a pair? We have quite a few that are alone, when we try to add another (even same sex, we DNA adult feathers to determine sex) They fight and won't let the new swan on the lake. Any suggestions?
