Dear Specialist
I visit a nearby bog very often. There's a swan with difficulties leaning on his foot. It has a noticeable limp and has had it for perhaps a month.
Is the leg broken or it it something different?
The swan is eating well and doesn't seem go hungry and it is certainly more fresh than his mate (I assume its a male, it is bigger than its partner). It will leave the bog and walk if there's a chance of being fed. It will return to the bog at the sight of dogs.
I hesitate calling the local animal welfare as they may just decide to end its life or separate it from its mate.
I would like your opinion
Best wishes
Pia
