Hi Linda:

We have heard of swans swimming for short times in saltwater. But, they will eventually leave for freshwater since they can not survive in brackish or salt water for long periods of time. The swan may have gotten off the migratory path or needed to cool and went into the ocean for a brief dip. The Regal Swan
