Most states require captive swans to be pinioned which should be done by a veterinarian with bird and/or waterfowl experience. These procedure must be conducted between 1-3 weeks of age. So, it is time to get this done.
Eventually, the parents will chase it from the pond if your pond is extremely small. Then, you may have to find it a new home. Not to pinion, is not fair to the bird as being fed by you in a captive setting does not help it learn how to survive in the wild. The Regal Swan
