Hi, I'm in Hamilton Ontario and we have one particular spot where a pair of mute swans mate every year. The whole community watches the building of the nest/eggs ect...This year tragedy struck when some fool let their dog go in to the harbour. Word is that said dog killed the newborn swans and now Mom/Dad hve left the area. They must have been so upset. Will the return next year or never return after seeing their babies killed? I'm so angry, this type of attack should have never happened. Nature is one thing, an irresponsible dog owner is another. The nest sits empty now and it breaks my heart--will the pair ever come back??
