I want to buy a swan - Various questions about keeping swans

I am thinking about buying a swan or two from my neighbor who breeds swans. I have many questions. I am 13 years old.

-What do swans eat?
-How much does it cost to keep swans?
-Do swans make good pets?
-Are all swans mean? (How can I make them not be mean?)
-Do they have to have a pond? Can I build a little 8x7 ft. pond and keep them in that?
-Can I have just one girl swan?
-Are girl or boy swans more friendlier?
-Would they be happier if there were two swans?
-Would an 8x8 foot pond be good enough for one swan???
