Swan has adopted us

Hi from Spurn Point, England. We have a lonely swan that appeared 3 days ago in our vegetable garden and has taken up residence outside the back door. It doesn't appear injured and is eating some bread and a few layers pellets, but is otherwise rather lethargic and just sitting there. The garden is walled and not big enough for it to take off (should it want to, which it has no inclination to at the moment). We had a massive storm 3 days ago, and suspect it has lost it's way and got 'blown in'. We have 4 acres of land with a pond on it, where we did have couples of white swans nesting in the past, but I am reluctant to just move it there. What is the best approach?
