If the former owners had them outside under the same conditions, we would agree that this would be sufficient. The major point is to keep the waterfall pump running so that the pond does not freeze which will either trap the geese and they could drown. Or, they become easy prey for predators that can walk across the ice to get the geese. Another point is to ensure that you provide the geese with a supplemental food supply of cracked corn, poultry layer pellets, bread and even lettuce during the course of the winter as natural vegetation and food resource deplenish during the winter.
Should you have a major winter storm heading your way, you can always plan to bring the swans indoors into a shelter like a garage or barn as long as they are kept from predators and chemicals. Provide them adequate water and food and they should do fine indoors if they need to be brought inside. The Regal Swan
