We have a local small body of water on edge of town. This area was attractive to ducks and several swans throughout the years. Licenced fishing is permitted. Today we seen a mature swan with a fish hook stuck in its bill and a length of leader with a sinker attached. attempts to net the swan were unsuccessful. We are trying to capture it to cut the barb and remove the hook. Please--- any immediate suggestions? For the future I suggested barbless fishing should be a must as this has happened before whereas some birds have died as a result. Pls answer. I will check this web site daily.
