Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Re: One swan now gone (The Regal Swan)

Hi Debra Wish we could be there. One day we may get enough money to fund some rescues but until then we hopefully help by consulting. The swans we heard about were located in East Hartford. We heard that state wildlife DEP and other state wildlife organizations would not help. Many states refuse to help Mute swans and will either kill them or allow them to die because they are not considered native birds. In any case a group of private volunteers are going to try to help and you may be able to contact private wildlife rehabbers or rescuers to help in this situation. Good luck and let us know how this turns out. The Regal Swan
