Hi Lucy:

If he can't fly from the area, he needs some supplemental food. Most swans will not go into a box, especially if it has a top to it. Provide him with lettuce, some bread and a mixture of cracked corn and poultry layer pellets. If he stays in the water at night, this should help protect him from most land predators. The Regal Swan
