Chasing Swans

Thanks so much for the insight. I did understand exactly what you were trying to convey to me. I still have not captured the other rescue from the sewer lagoon, but I am still trying to before it gets extremely cold here and some other animal kills it. I believe it to be a boy. Very large, large neck, large knob on face but not as big as the one on my pond, but I believe this swan is about 2 years old. If you have any good solutions to catching a swan, I would appreciate your guidance. No one in their right mind would go into that water. I just cannot see letting him get killed. Originally, there were 4 swans on this property in a very large, clean lake. Since the other 3 were killed, this swan has moved to the lagoon and will not leave. I do walk down there every day and feed him.

If you remember, I told you that I divided my pond in half with fencing. Having watched the interactions of the 3 swans, I believe I will just leave it separated and I will ensure the safety of all. My male, named Gus, really could care less about the swan across the fence. The female, Miss Ellie, stays at the fence constantly with her wings ruffled.

I will be extremely careful if and when I capture the additional swan which for the time being is named Presley. I will pen him up for a while and introduce Sandy and Presley to each other. I just cannot catch Presley.

Thank you for the email information. I will give it to my vet to contact yours. Thanks again!!
