Hi Mary:

You need to get him to an avian veterinarian to look at the leg. This injury could be anything from a severe sprain, a muscle or tendon tear or a foreign material in the bottom of the foot. Any of the above could cause a severe infection, therefore veterinary supportive care is warranted. The Regal Swan
