Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Re: New Swan owners and we need help! (Robyn Marie)

Thank you for the info .... it was helpful ...! The local avian vet doesn't do house calls and I'm not sure I want to traumatize Conrad to a car ride so I am seeking alternative ideas for sexing.

Have you had any feedback or have any opinion about www.dnasexing.com regarding dna on freshly plucked feathers? This seems like a low-cost (and stress), high accuracy way to do this, but I found it on the internet and you never know what you're finding out there.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. And I really want to buy your book, I am sure it is very helpful, and I've heard very good things about it. But it is a bit expensive (though I am sure worth every penny) and I will need to wait and put it on my Christmas list :) ....

Plus we just learned our "deposit" for a September mate won't happen. We will still be seeking a mate, as soon as we know the sex. THANK YOU!!!
