Swan unable to eat
By:Kimberley

Dear Sirs,
I have had mute swans for 12 years. They were cygnets when I received them.
Both were male swans from the same hatching. They lived on a 5,000 gal. koi pond with koi fish and access to a large lawn area. I lost 1 of them 3 years ago due to
smoke inhalation. There was a large fire that took some of the houses here.
So, I now have 1 swan left. He is usually somewhat agressive.
I feed him Mizouri Waterfowl pellets, green lettuce. Sometimes scratch.
I have a lawn area that he frequents when out of the pond. Lately he's been digging
and eating mud (there are 2 4" holes).
Currently he looks like something is stuck in his throat.. He isn't eating, not even lettuce. Neck feathers look puffed.
He has never been caught. I think the stress might make him worse.
Is there something I can do? Offer Fruit? More Lettuce?
Thank you for your consideration,
Kimberley
