In Response To: Adult female swan with fishing lure in her heel/ankle (Rob)

My girlfriend and I have been visiting two swans at Sylvan Lake, MI. The male is fine, but the female is having a hard time walking around because of a medium sized metal fishing lure (3 pronged barb). We have been debating on how to help her. Can we attempt to remove it? or should we contact a specialist? I would love some advice.
