Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Mute and Black swans living on the same pond (Betty J Hammett-Schroeder)

I have a pair of Mute Swans and a trio of Black swans
due to death of one male. I would like to have them all on the same pond which is just shy of one half acre. I had them spend the winter in the barn in adjacent pens with chainlink between them so as to get used to each other in hopes of being able to allow them freedon on our pond.

Please advise if this is ok or if they will kill each other. I have heard conflicting stories from both sides of the argument, so I am desperate for professional help.

thank you for your time in this matter...
Betty
