A couple of swans arrived on our small neighborhood pond a few weeks ago.
The cold Michigan weather has frozen the pond, and only one swan appears to have stayed and in the same spot for 3 hours. It flapped its wing looking like it tried to move out of its spot. Could it be frozen? I used a laser beam to try to spook it into moving with no luck. Its dark now and it still hasn't moved. My animal control said that swans don't freeze because they're always moving and dismissed my call for help? What do you suggest we do? The Fire dept. wasn't very interested in helping either. Will it survive the night?
