I got 4 black swan cignets when they were 2 days old. After about a week old, I was wondering if they had trouble walking, but they soon were walking fine (IF they were even having trouble). However about two weeks later, one started showing troubles with one or both legs. I have been watching it closely, and now he can't even walk on one of the legs, and in the last couple of days, he has his leg completely behind him and can't seem to even bring it forward! Before this time, it seemed as though at the knee it would bend out/in sideways, but I am not positive on that. I am going to the vet today, but was wondering if swans have problems with legs? I don't believe it is splayed leg syndrome. I don't believe he injured or broke it. When I put them outside, he gets around in the pond ok, but I now have to lift him out and move him around to eat.
