Thanks so much for your response to my previous question. After "retrieving" it several times when left behind and rescuing it from Memorial weekend boat traffic on our lake, it is now being kept for a couple of days by people willing to attend to it's every need. We fear that it is blind or partially blind because it would drift off and we'd never see it eat but when put in a small container of water with added food, it had a voracious appetite. We have contacted the man who takes in injured and disabled swans (Our local "crazy swan lady" mailed an adult female to him with a badly broken leg and she now has a mate and is sitting on eggs) so we are optimistic about this cygnet. Thanks so much for your helpful info and quick responses!
