In Response To: Mute swan in Gulf of Mexico? (Kathy)

Twice now (dec 20-24, 2013) recently I have seen what is believed to be a juvenile mute swan in the shallow wetlands of the Gulf of Mexico in the area of New Port Richey, just north of Tarpon Springs. The bird has light gray brown coloring on top ...hard to see as the bird is not close up.

In the 13 years I have been here I have never seen a swan in salt water.

What insight do you have about this bird? I have photos.
