Hi:

The minimum requirement for two mute swans would be at least 1/8- 1/4 of an acre. The birds need to be able to swim, feed, preen, graze, walk and exercise in general. The pond should be at least 2-3 feet in depth with an aerator (underground bubbler or a fountain with no winches, ropes, lines or other dangerous components that the swans may get entangled). A feeder with 1/2 cracked corn and 1/2 poultry layer pellet should also be installed in the pond at least 3 feet from the bank to ensure that pests and predators are not attracted to the food. There are links about setting up feeders on this website in older posts. We hope this helps. The Regal Swan
