Ask the Swan Specialist

In Response To: Habitat in acre pond (Edward)

My name is Ed. I work for a parks department in N.J

The boro is thinking of getting two swans to help control geese population. We have a pond about an acre and a half; the pond has a concrete apron that runs around the entire pond with a two foot wall that also runs around entire pond with one opening at the north end of pond. There is no aquatic plants to speak of, some algae and small island with some grass and a weeping willow tree. I just need to know if this would hold two swans or what is needed to keep them safe and healthy.
