In Response To: Black necked swan in Ontario (Sharyn)

My mom saw a black necked swan on Balsam Lake, Ontario. How is that possible? Did his gps malfunction? Isn't Ontario still in the northern hemisphere? I know birds can travel inconceivable distances but this is literally the opposite end of the earth from his home in Chile/Brazil area.
