If you can keep them separated on different sides of the habitat so that they have absolutely no way of contacting each other, then we would go along with your providing him a very good home. Since you know about swans, you would be a great candidate to house another swan. However, most males, especially if they have lost their mate (male or female) will not take another mate, especially another male.

They both will get into a fight trying to establish dominance. So, if you can keep him, but separated, then this will prevent either of the swans from getting seriously hurt and possibly killed due to a severe beating.
