What to do with cygnet?

My husband & myself rescued a baby swan on 7/4/10. The parents along with two other two cyegets where attemping to cross a very busy channel and the one was not strong enought to make it do to a broken leg. Seen it floating and picked it up. Successfully we rehab. the leg good as new. It is walking and eating very well. We feed it fresh seaweed from the lakes and channels near our home along with a starter duck pellet and what bug we can get. Our question is, what we read, the male would kill it if we re-introduced it back? Where could we take it to live with other swans? Would another adult adopt it?
If I wintered it in Michigan could it be let go in Spring? We are very attached and after all are efforts to save its life I would not want anything to happen. I have more questions but, I'll wait for a reply.
Thanks,
