I am aware of a white female swan nesting in a well known corner of cheshire. I have been to see her four times now and the first two times, her mate was around obviusly protecting her. For a few days now, he has not been there but she is still sitting on her nest and occassionally attempts to build it up a bit.
Is this usual behaviour or might it be that the male has been injured and unable to return please?
