In Response To: Separation: one cygnet away from the others (Lyn)

Our new pair of local swans have successfully nested having failed to hatch their eggs last year. They hatched eight and now have five at present. Three days ago one cygnet separated from the group and is seen feeding alone on the loch now always separate from the group. Is this normal at the age of eight weeks and will it be able to survive and mature without the parents and siblings.
