Ask the Swan Specialist
Steve,
I recommend going to www.creeksidebirds.com
which is in California. I purchased my female mute (as a companion to my male that was a rescue) from Jack the owner 3 yrs ago. The bird was shipped to the east coast with no difficulties. She is very healthy and well adjusted
Also, go to www.eggbid.com and click on Birds and then on Ornamental. From time to time there are pairs for sale. They have a black mute available now. Perhaps you can contact that breeder for future availability of pairs
Highly recommend the Care of Captive Swans written by the Vets at The Regal Swan to learn the most updated information on the care of these beautiful birds
Best,
Lisa Sommer
